Pet of the Month – Jack

This is Jack. He is a 9 year old domestic shorthair who recently lost some weight. His weight had gradually been creeping up over the last few years and Jack was starting to look a little pudgy. Dr. Trerise and his owners came up with a suitable weight loss plan that has helped Jack shed almost 2 lbs already! That’s about 7.5% of his total body weight! Weight gain among our feline friends is very common and can predispose them to joint disease, diabetes, and pancreatitis. While a few pounds may not seem like a lot to us, it can make the difference between a healthy pet and an obese one. Luckily for Jack he is on his way back to his old svelte self and for all of his hard work we would like to congratulate him on becoming this month’s Pet of the Month.

ACGLO is waiting for guidance from Oregon Health Authority and Oregon Veterinary Medical Association on how to do reopen our clinic to you safely. At this time, we remain in curbside care. Please watch our website for updates.
